I’m in on Eiyuden Chronicles as well and have been looking forward to it for a while now since there does not seem to be any contemporary games that iterate on what Suikoden was doing. However, the reviews are decidedly mixed and, thinking back on it, I’m not sure if any of the plethora of games made by returning genre luminaries ultimately panned out, either based on personal experience or general reception to them. I guess Iga / Bloodstained was good, but even that game compares unfavorably with his prior work and that of contemporary games in the genre.
Luckily, it’s on GamePass so the opportunity cost is low for me.
