I thought for a while that there would be a group of renegade hackers who wanted to bring down corrupt politicians… and that they would tangle themselves up in the ongoing crises in the US and the UK. It seemed for a while that Anonymous would be that group. Now that election hacking is uncovered to be a Russian-guided exercise, it seems that Anonymous are nowhere to be seen, nor are other hacking groups. Were these groups just Russian Intel destabilizing us all along? Are there no legit “good guy” hackers out there who are going to reveal the level of corruption gripping the country now?
Jester is out there and a few others, but yeah, it seems like a lot of the supposed “hacktavists” are actually Russian/Chinese intel.
