That’s why the familiarity, I’ve seen it on GOG. Have it on GOG even.
I played the crap out of MoM at all stages of my life, starting at college. It was some of the first videos I recorded and put on youtube, in fact. MoM is such a defining game for me, one of the very best - it’s probably one of the reasons I’m such a big gamer, how much into MoM I got when I was young.
I must have first played MoM in 1996 or so. I had played Master of Orion A LOT, so I had a positive impression of Microprose already. MoM blew my mind. I had never imagined that there was a game that combined Civilization and AD&D.
And Magic: The Gathering, which when I was playing MoM I was just getting into and found the parallels excellent.
