Dominions 5: Multiplayer Warriors of the Feint - 2018 Stabby-Stabby Edition

So, war has started. Soon to be on three fronts, with @dfs ending out NAP.

This should be interesting. Still, I have a several turns to prepare. That shouldn’t be too bad though. I’ve been warring on two fronts since this game started, after all.

Unfortunately for me, Ind’s valiant defense made it a bit late for Vanarus. I’m hoping that @Strato has tricks left up their illusionary sleeves!

This is an interesting game that is a long way from being decided. I think Pythium is best end game nation but missed out of top end artifacts/summons.

I still think Machaka is in the drivers seat especially if he can quickly finish off Vanarus. I’m in better shape than I ever imagined but the least skilled player of the 3 contenders. I’m not sure what end game in dom 5 is like!

Well, both of you have the much bigger empires. And you have Mother Oak. I’ve got enough to make it a long bloody fight.

I wonder if my hoplites will be enough to hold against your giants. I have a bit of magic that can help though.

This has to be an all time entry into the poor mouthing hall of fame. Kudos. It’s amazing that you’ve held on for so long against such overwhelming odds!

I’d also guess that your hundreds of corprse constructs will also help against teams with storm magic!

I guess I have no choice but to accept your nations’ unconditional surrenders. Thank you so much for a great game!

Fight me! :p

Actually, no maybe not.

Is this game ending or, what’s the story?

Its something right now. But end game? Only if those Ghouls keep getting spammed. Funny that the Aternation event occured after all those ghouls were summoned.

In any case, I think we all know that the next few turns will be very lively.

Alteration event is ongoing. Was up last turn which is why Ghouls were spammed.

Game is definitely continuing!

Was it? I didn’t notice.

Well, the timing was good for you. I mean, there is no way that @Strato has a chance. He just needs to hang out long enough to punish me, for finishing the war he started.

And then @dfs is hoping that with the 3 turns, we’ll be stuck in it long enough for him to sweep up.

So, @dfs wins in the end.

I’m a little sad for @Strato. He was really put out to dry by both of you. I figured that @wahoo would have jumped in much sooner, if he had planned to help him out.

Hey, I’m all for skipping over the ending and just accepting your surrender now. Easier on everybody.

Yeah. Strato accepted his fate without malice.

If I had a more realistic picture of how long Pyrhic was going to hold out I would have stayed in the fight with you, but he made it very clear that he was only going to last another turn or two. In the end I think he was right that our peace likely gave you the game. We shall see.

wahoo got delayed by Evil Steve. If they were to do it again it just might draw out longer.

I have a lot to add, but will wait until the game is over. Unfortunately, I got really sick for a couple weeks at a critical time of the game earlier this year and didn’t act out on some plans as I had hoped, and the end result was a lot different than I anticipated also. I will explain more once we do our AAR summaries.

Yeah, Evil Steve beating my first attack (left with I think a pretender/prophect and losing 99% of folks. I thought he’d autoroute with those casualties…but oh well). That put me way behind my plan to save Strato.

I knew I could beat Evil Steve but finishing him was tough, especially since he had stealth troops/fliers that could and did inflict pain.

The AAR will be interesting and I don’t disagree with the fact that dfs is well positioned to win as Lego and me weaken each other.

@Kelan . look forward to it and I really hope you are better.

No way!!!

Wahoo didn’t put me out to dry at all. In fact, I encouraged Wahoo to focus on his game first because it was definitely his game to lose. Same applies with dfs, though there was no discussion - you gotta play your own game and I’m not holding any grudges.

The war of course started as a result of legowarriors brilliant play right from the start. And with Na’ba being threatened, well you know, last thing I want is a giant player that circled me from both left and right, especially given the godawful start I had in my early game. I’ll write about that later maybe, depends on how much alcohol I can drink to go back and view those early game turns and see my troops fail time and again to take indy provinces. Ugh. So teaming up with another strong player, and maybe taking small chunks of land seemed to be the path to maybe getting back into the game, but it didn’t happen of course. And that’s fine. My engagement has been hot and cold with it admittedly - once dfs pulled out, I saw myself as a cockroach fighting a losing battle, but being as much of a pain in legowarriors arse as possible :p

12 hour timer just came in. I might make it in time, but then I might not.
Yesterday was supposed to be my day to play that turn and I just didn’t get to it.
Longwinded way of asking for a 12 hour extension.

Okay, I’m on it. 12 hours will be added.

Siiiiigh.

Immobile pretenders can’t break siege? WTF. Oh well. Last time I ever use an immobile pretender. They just suck in general. Worse than vanilla titans suckitude. Yet at the same time, the one unit that managed to score so many kills so quickly.

Also, you were the one that “misclicked” onto my territory first. So you know, technically you started it anyway.

It was a misclick of a sorcerer. It’s not something I would do on purpose. 190 gold down the drain. It was supposed to be a scout.

Not a bad turn, all things considered. Too bad about the Pretender getting away.

And some of the other troops slipping their nets. What is with that?

The Pretender was not there at all that turn.

With nets/web - from memory a strength check will free?

There was no way I could win that battle. Not unless I brought some specialised magic. Those spiders just have too strong a shell to break through easily.

Ah, I thought it was there the prior turn (turn 69).
The spiders are very tough. Pricy though.
of course, I loaded up on buffs.

I saw that Ghouls are still on the menu for some reason. And that I didn’t catch everything I wanted to in battle.
