I was really surprised by this also. It’s not the kind of honesty you expect in a preview. After the review, maybe, he can write a column in which he reveals he didn’t like the game. But slamming them upfront for slagging the franchise - that’s not something you see in PCG everyday.
edit: Not that I object. Honesty…it’s a good thing.

I was relatively shocked by how negative Dan Morris was in his Ghost Recon 2 preview. Not shocked in a bad way necessarilly- Dan was very upfront about how much he felt the gameplay was being dumbed down to appeal more to console users and how the game really didn’t resemble the first game at all. Definitely not what I would expect from PC Gamer.
Pointless, maybe… but you’ve gotta love the job security!

In case anyone is curious, Scott Miller says the rumor isn’t true.
Bummer. At least I got everyone to say how much they don’t want to play the game again!
