E.Y.E. Divine Cybermancy

I see it there, but it is grayed out.

As long as it doesnt have the crossed out red circle icon, you can take it.

No post-patch comments? Looks like it’s finally okay to buy this one:

I generally enjoyed playing EYE and I was impressed with some of the cool features. However, my synopsis review would be that it may not be worth people’s time. Twenty dollars on this could be be put towards a AAA title e.g., Deus Ex HR, that people would probably enjoy more.

Pros v.s. Cons
!dropin-dropout coop gameplay!, huge levels, cool dystopian atmosphere, character progression w/single and multi player carry over, lots and lots of fiddlybits (weapons, psi powers, implants, stats)
v.s.
laggy multiplayer (boo!), buggy, poor documentation, not a lot of people playing coop(at least not on servers that are not pw protected), uneven difficulty, unpolished

This game has a ton of potential. I hope the company does a sequel.

All imo of course.

I have a feeling EYE will be far more interesting than the new Deus Ex, but we’ll see. I’ve gotten far more than $20 out of the game already. It’s able to take risks that AAA games just can’t / won’t do.

Is there excessive enemy respawn in this game?

Yes but you can turn it way down in the options

There are two difficulty settings, one for overall difficulty and one for respawn rate.

And you’ll want to fiddle with those till you get used to the game, too. Single player with a high re-spawn rate can be absolutely brutal.

Yes, even on the lowest respawn setting. Giant enemies will literally respawn on top of you a minute or so after they’re killed. It’s a bit uneven, so on some levels it’s not so bad, but in general the risk of stuff respawning on top of you is always there.

Not one of the games better aspects!

big badda bump

In case anyone who cares hasn’t picked it up yet (raises hand), E.Y.E. is $9.99 on Steam today.

So… are these (E.Y.E) devs still around? They spoke of an upcoming patch to the game in September but nothing new has been posted on their site since.

Is this game worth $2.50?

It depends on your tolerance for unexplained game mechanics, janky shooting, and hilarious badly translated story. If you can get past that and enjoy the completely gonzo weirdness, then $2.50 may be worth it. Keep in mind that you’ll just be sating your curiousity. You will not be playing a good game.

Which is a real shame because it has the core of an amazing deus ex crazy dystoptian game

The answers to my question about respawn of enemies above do not fill me with enthusiasm. I kind of want to buy it, but excessive respawn can kill the game for me…

Is the game as bad and poorly-designed as the Giant Bomb quick-look makes it look? Seems like such a stupid-dense array of badly-implemented mechanics.

I quite liked the game despite the clunk and junk. I even liked the translation issues, it added to the overall weirdness of the game. I’ll take EYE over yet another brown shooter any day.

As far as respawn, that’s controllable via the in game menu, what was the problem with it?

I mean, I absolutely love the STALKER games and they’re obviously very clunky. But the gameplay systems were relatively well-designed and balanced. EYE just looks like some over-ambitious fans of games thought they could make an amazing game by just shoving in every single concept they could think of without remotely considering how to make it playable or approachable at all.

I have to agree from what I tried last night. It’s not a good sign when a game begins with asking you to watch 20 tutorial videos which the ones I watched did not really explain what was happening.
