Failing Trump administration. Sad!

Political MRSA.

They feel just fine in that world.

I wouldn’t either except that it appears to violate a law, and if so, the law is the law. IANAL and am completely at the mercy of experts as to whether Trump faces criminal exposure in the Daniels/McDougal matters. (Setting aside for the moment the question whether a sitting president can be indicted.)

Paying off a porn star, like bragging about pussy grabbing, is pretty far down the list of reasons why I think Trump is a blight upon the Republic. But any port in a storm, and all that.

Look at the larger picture. What happened in October?
The Access Hollywood tape.

And how did Republicans initially react to that? What also happened that weekend?
Podesta’s emails leaked. Think that was a coincidence?

Don’t look at the payment to porn stars and playboy models at face value (trump cheating is between him and his wife), but look how that scandal would have looked in light of the AH tape. So what did trump and the campaign do? Knowingly violated the law to prevent a scandal from coming out that may well have and probably would have actually ruined their campaign.

IOW don’t minimize the impact of what they did. They commited a felony in order to influence a Presidential election. That is far worse than Watergate.

To distract people from the Cohen/Pecker/Manafort mayhem, Trump is considering revoking security clearances from more people, says Vanity Fair, “including former national security adviser H.R. McMaster and secretary of state Rex Tillerson.”

(They forgot to mention poor old Boxer the horse.)

Uh, isn’t McMaster still on active duty?

Edit: Never mind, he retired in May.

Here’s hoping

Because this version makes more sense than the real version, some Friday fun …

In another administration a scandal like this would have kept the press busy for weeks. Now it just goes into the scandal reject pile. “Thank you for your submission, but we have no use for this scandal at this time. For future scandals, please consider more sex and/or treason.”

WTF.

Firing Sessions will piss off the Senate. Nominating a replacement will piss off everyone else.

So when does that jerk lose his non-profit status?

Oops. He’s the dude who left the base, sauntered into the town nearby and did it in cold blood, right?

Look, it’s not like we could just have any small town bank CEO as SecArmy.

Is this even real? I can’t find the referenced Twitter account for Esper.

It is referencing the Facebook account. Appears the post has since been deleted.

Ah thanks, crazy.
