Wasn’t the original Far Cry the one with the weird mutant things in the end? I coulda taken a pass at that part. That game was a beach swimming simulator for me.
I like the idea of a Far Cry Fantasy, or a time travel one where you go back with modern day weapons and radios. Kind of an Ass Creed Far Cry mashup.

But man, the parts of the game stalking humans on a wide open island were great. That kind of gameplay is what made me so happy when I discovered Sniper Elite.

It’ll be interesting to see if the DLC settings jazz up the formula. Having the main games all set pretty much today seems to contribute to the saminess. If they’d gone from 1 to 2 to either 3 or 4 and then Primal, the series would still seem pretty inventive, but 3, 4 and 5 all seem over similar. I’m hoping 5 is at least a Wildlands reskin, rather than another FC3 reskin.

It looks like you cannot use that with existing GMG accounts so I had to create a new one to redeem the offer.
That’s what I did, it seems now GMG is not giving out Uplay key anymore, had to direct link the game to your Uplay account, which is fine. I guess with this way, it cut down the uplay key resale.
I’m probably getting this. The gameplay and gunplay will be great but I expect a lot of Both Sides-ism and Hillbilly Elegy bullshit from Ubisoft.
That latter thing is why I’ll wait till I can get it on a deep discount.
Hmm. After the initial tutorial area, there is no good reason why you don’t just hightail it out of the region and go get the National Guard or the ATF. It’s great that the map opens up so you’re totally free, but the story makes zero sense if you’re not locked in the valley. It’s kind of dumb that your character just stays and fights the cult without federal backup. Oh well. I guess story doesn’t really matter in a game like this.

I am playing around with Primal at the moment (never tried it at launch, and somehow picked it up cheap as part of some bundle or something I guess), and man, it’s good! I like it a lot more than an Far Cry since 2.
