Game box art challenge?

On the Commodore 64 side of things, we sure did.

Castles?

Not Castles, but one figures prominently.

Soul Blazer?
(I thought it was a stylized skull at first, in the form of Grim Fandango!)

Whatever the version of Castlevania was on the SNES?

I’m going to guess Castle of Illusion, then go check and probably feel dumb.

Nope! I’ll throw another one out before bed.

Welp, never played this one. I think it’s relatively obscure.

Dang I really thought it was Soul Blazer!

This game is so much worse than Soul Blazer, lol. I’ve been educated on it now. I’m embarrassed for everyone here.

Ha ha, you used your trick, mad scientist!
Well, I’ll name a bad Super Nintendo game, although I am pretty sure that’s not it: Super Ghouls’n’Ghosts.

ActRaiser?

Nope! This might not actually be any more helpful, but it’s all I can reveal without the title or the tagline.

It looks more like a tiny house lost in the sea than a manor now.

I know the cover, I can even picture it precisely in what store and on what stand I saw it… but I just keep getting that other game’s name in my mind!

Ultima III: Exodus for the SNES? That looks kind of like his castle.

Nope! I feel bad for choosing something so obscure! The internet convinced me this was a game that people played!

I cheated and looked it up through the publisher, and of course, now I remember it! Now I vaguely get why I was mixing it with that other game.
But boy, that “3-D Action Fantasy” sticker is misleading. Hurray for marketing!

Most of that tagline is a straight-up lie. The accurate version would say “Action Fantasy”.

Come on, got to give them credits for that “in waves” XD

Secret of Mana?

EDIT: Nope, cheated and looked it up. Never heard of that one.
