Surprisingly the spellbook inside is green. I thought something about that game was solid purple as well.

My copy only came with something like 10 or 12 diskettes
I think the box I had was mostly white? But the text at the top seemed like adventure game marketing, and then the tentacles put me in mind of something horror-themed. That was maybe my favorite of the franchise (although I didn’t have #2).
Wow, was able to find a game that hasn’t been done surprisingly quickly!

I didn’t have an issue with the box art you used. Just commented that it was slightly different from the one I played. I think I got the later CD ROM version.

The green blobs and the yellow of the title immediately brought it to mind. I have fond memories of the game.
Next—a quick search didn’t seem to being this one up, but I might have missed it.
PS The aspect ratio might be a tiny bit off. There’s a little extra space on the top and bottom, I think.
