I finally got him.
The secret is to focus on evasion only. Hitting the three weak spots is pretty much impossible, so just keep hitting him anywhere you can, and eventually he goes down as long as you keep focusing on not getting hit.
I do wonder if there’s something wrong with me for not enjoying this game so far. I love the story bits, but 90% of the time is spent on puzzles and combat, neither of which is fun for me. I just get through those parts so I can get to the next story bit.
But I’m still early in the game. I should probably give it a go sometime with a guide handy or something, just so that I don’t spend so long on the combat and puzzles.
I think it’s better to look at a guide and experience a full game than to be stubborn and stay stuck.
