Re: Subverse and Studio FOW, checking their website shows that all their previous work is pornographic.
Which, by itself is fine but it’s all non-consensual and violent rape-type of existing videogame IP like Lara Croft etc. Why is the fandom porn all like this?
Do they have any dinosaur porn games? I can’t even believe dinosaur porn exists:
Dinosaur erotica, part of the larger genre of monster erotica, is a subgenre of erotic literature that involves sexual encounters between humans and nonavian dinosaurs. Works include titles such as Taken by the T-Rex, Ravished by Triceratops and A Billionaire Dinosaur Forced Me Gay.
I checked out the Subverse page and I have to admit, I’m intrigued and might even buy it. Not because I dig weird porny polygons but I’m just that desperate for something to take the place of Mass Effect. But man, if my wife ever caught me playing that she would never stop laughing at me.
I looked at the trap, Ray! And wow, yeah, that’s, you know, just a bit more rapey than I was looking for. I am probably not the target audience for this kind of thing.
(caveat: this is a referral link that might get me a bit more stuff)
The Faeria devs are trying to make a roguelike card game of their own. Given how well games like Slay the Spire and Monster Slayers are seen here, and the pedigree of Faeria, I have a lot of faith in this one- if it gets funded.
They’re promising alpha access for folks who pledge today.
Edit: played the Alpha a bit now, this really does have a Slay the Spire type feel to it, but with its own twist. I think this one should end up very good.
Kickstarter? Nah. They can step in up front, but after that they’re out of it. There might be some recourse but the question is whether it would be in line with the potential return.
This behavior is going to kill Kickstarter. In addition to everything else that’s wrong with it, it undermines faith in developer promises when they screw over their backers like this. Always worth at least trying to demand a refund - the only way they’ll learn anything is if it costs them money.
Yeah, last time my Kickstarter boardgame promised to send via UPS and actually shipped via FedEx I got really pissed off- how dare they? It was a promise!
