Man, that writer’s name is Sin Vega. I’m jealous.

I suspect Sin picked her own name. You could too. Just gotta do the legal name change.

Make space for The Hulk Balrog!

The long in development Mother 4 fan game has wisely decided to distance themselves from Nintendo’s IP. The project is now called Oddity, and it will be out WID.

I bought Dicey Dungeons over the sale and played two games. It definitely starts off on the easy side. In what way does the game change as you get further along the difficulty path? Are new items available? Do you just play harder versions of the same monsters?

I like the mechanics but can see it getting repetitive if not enough is changed up.

I said this over in the weekend thread, not realizing you brought it up here. I think DD does an admirable job of mixing stuff up. Eventually you’ll unlock class quest lines, where each stage puts a new special rule in place that can very much change the dynamic of the game. It also gets a lot harder. My guess is you’ll like it.

I’m still early on. I just unlocked the third class but haven’t played it. Cool. I’m glad there will be things to change it up.

I’ll second that you should keep going. Ez mode turns off once you get past the robot class run (also, robot is best).

I just won with the robot, and yeah, I agree it has been the most fun so far.

Did you go for the Ultima weapon, or are you boring? I’m boring.

Yep. I loved it!

For some reason it took me a little while to realize I could use my dice and still keep rolling for the jackpot.

Wow, I asked that semi-facetiously because to me, Buster sword was so obviously better! That’s wild that it worked out for you, I want to see that run. There are two kind of people in this world, I suppose.

I had the other thing that made the jackpot range bigger, and then I upgraded it so it would get bigger by 2. I had a lot of times where I got the 2X damage since I got a jackpot. The gambling aspect of the robot made it pretty fun.

IGF Nominations are up, and full of indie games that are worth playing!

How is it Disco Elysium is nowhere on those lists?

I don’t believe it was submitted, unfortunately.

Nifty little map-building game, like a table-top roll-and-write:

Well there goes my afternoon.

What kind of scores would be “good” for this?
