Little Indie Games Worth Knowing About (Probably)

Planet Nomads is looking pretty great.

Oh Good Lord.

Porn Studio Tycoon

I’d sell my mother to the Arabs if it meant getting Tom to stream this.

You could just convince everyone to vote for it for request Wednesday, or just get @marquac to vote for it, he might not even want your mother in return.

This all really makes me smile for no apparent reason. A business sim is a business sim though, and haha, this looks fun if it’s, you know, any good.

Games like this and, um, other games is exactly why Steam needs an incognito mode that doesn’t track stats or playtime visible publicly on your profile.

just create another account ;)

Ok I am officially going to vote for that every request Wednesday til he plays it I think LOL.

For science, I took a look at the screens: you are going to be so sorry when Tom explains to you for an hour what all those numbers (boy, are there numbers! and they ain’t kamasutra related!) mean.

Thomas Zighem, the original author of Genesia/Ultimate Domain, has finally released a public Alpha of the sequel to his game

The game retains the human vs Nature ecological emphasis of its illustrious predecessor. It also deceptively still looks like a Populous clone on first inspection.
This new game has been in closed Alpha for years and years, so I am not quite ready to jump on it yet, but the screenshots are very promising.

As a bonus, if you want to work on your Frecnh, here is a video interview of Thomas on a TV show in 1993.

That looks right up my alley. I’d like to see a gameplay video before jumping in, but wishlisted for now.

I saw that too, totally wishlisted.

Are you saying it has tool-tips? Do they expand when you move your finger over them?

Dead Cells looks like a much better version of Rogue Legacy. I don’t normally like progression roguelikes, but I’m tempted after watching a stream.

So hey friends, anyone own We Need to Go Deeper?

We’re gonna stream it this evening and could use a couple more crewmates. PM me if you’re interested. Thanks!

I do not, but it looks awesome.

I tried it just with one person, which wasn’t as easy as it sounds, but it was still fun even just driving the sub and getting killed in a cave by a giant lobster.

Ditto.

Genesia looks very interesting, but I also see from the Steam forum a little bit of friction perhaps over how many of the game mechanics ought to be explained, and how much of the fun is just figuring it out.

If I am supposed to just discover that mixing X and Y will give me Z, that might be fine. But if I am supposed to discover myself that control-z is the way to run, the game and I will not be getting along well.

This. Game. Is. Awesome.

I bought it today and only played for an hour or so, but it’s already everything I wanted Rogue Legacy and Salt and Sanctuary to be.

It’s a bit cheaper on WinGameStore ($12.99), maybe even more if code pcgames5off works.
