Not exactly. I think we are trying to show that we there are a wide range of interest, and I like the idea of a intro thread for New comers.

If we did, maybe someone could find it and link to it? I can’t remember.
Many of us date back to the old “blue boards” from 2001 or so.

We did, but I think that is the wrong kind of thread for these times. Understandably these days a “hey just go ahead and tell us some personal info” is not really very welcoming. An invitation to share what your interests with hopefully people saying “hi!” seems more welcoming to me.
I swear I posted in it back in 2010 or so.
