Sombra!
On the PTR next week, along with a new map and some new game modes of some sort. Then another new map on the PTR in December.
Pretty funny, especially the ending.
Cute one. Love how the arrows hit even when they don’t hit the mark, which used to be how he played.
So finally got a little time with the freeplay going on and it’s really really a really great game. Had tons o fun just running around healing like an insane person with Mercy. Even got a few kills with my silly melee attack and one with my gun (which I never remember I have). I generally prefer the less twitch based FPSs these days (Battlefields, but I can’t get 1 til Christmas cuz…kids presents!?) but for 35 I dove in an grabbed this. Also figure that since it’s Blizzard it will have plenty of staying power.
Again, it’s fast paced but the chaos somehow feels earned and workable for this old sumbitch of a gamer. There are only a few powers to remember per character and I think all of them are listed onscreen so you don’t have to remember at first. So so good.
The new arcade stuff is a welcome edition. More fun than competitive. 3v3 elimination (last man standing deathmatch) in a dedicated map. 6v6 with random hero spawns every death. 6v6 random brawl with new rules every game. 1v1 mystery elimination (both use same hero).
6v6 elimination can’t be far away, Blizz will have to cave eventually.
Got it on my Xbone during the sale. It’s lostcawzz on there. I have a couple of QT3 friends but probably should do the QT3 club thing now. But my kids/stepkids play on my xbone more than their’s so it wouldn’t be me on as me all the time.
Played a few games on the ptr. Symmetra is practially a new hero.
New Abilities
Photon Barrier
- Replaces her existing Photon Shield ability
- Generates a large energy barrier in front of Symmetra that blocks enemy fire as it travels forward
Shield Generator (New Ultimate Ability)
- List Symmetra’s Ultimate ability now offers a choice between her Teleporter and a new option: Shield Generator
- Shield Generator places a device that grants additional shields to any ally within the its effective radius, regardless of barriers, walls, or obstacles between heroes and the Shield Generator
Photon Projector (Primary Fire)
- Range has been increased from 5 meters to 7 meters
Sentry Turret
- Number of turrets that can be carried has been increased from 3 turrets to 6 turrets
- Cooldown has been reduced from 12 seconds to 10 seconds
Teleporter
- Decreased health from 200 to 50
- Increased shields from 0 to 350
Photon Shield
- Replaced with the new Photon Barrier ability
That seems like they just made Symetra crazy OP. Am I missing something? I mean, she was already extremely strong in my experience, although I haven’t played for a while.
Symmetra was pretty good at low levels of play or in very specific scenarios, but she was the least-used character.
A friend bought this today, so I did also. Any character easy to start out with? I only messed with the beta months ago.

Soldier 76 is a good starting point. Hitscan hero, fast movement, self heal, good ult.
Play the objective! Get a mic! Team communication is very important!
Symmetra may even displace Rein now, in a new meta!
Mercy and Lucio are relatively easy starting characters if you’re interested in the support side of things.
Yeah I have been playing Mercy, she reminds me of the doctor from TF2 the most.
Are there any lingering PS4 version sales? It seems a so called friend picked it up just recently on discount and didn’t say anything.
I came home yesterday to find my wife and 4 year old son playing. Really it was mostly her. Then we all went to bed, and she was still playing.
