Ben_Sones:
Sure, lots of things! Visit the Rock Band thread, for instance. Is there a reason why I shouldn’t be pessimistic about MS’s Games for Windows push, though? Because since last year I’ve been hearing about how it isn’t just some empty, meaningless gesture–that THIS time Microsoft is really, really serious about supporting gaming on the PC. So far, that’s amounted to, what? New signs hanging over the same old atrophied PC game racks in stores? And new banners across the top of game boxes. And about ten minutes out of a 90 minute conference devoted to the PC. And the most disappointing list of upcoming PC games in the history of ever. If you can provide me with some reasons not to be cranky and pessimistic about GfW, I’d love to hear them!
I agree with Sones. The world can now end.
That’s a relief, Ben! You just seemed kinda crabby lately:
PC gaming is in no way d0med, but it’s definitely fallen ill. This is the first year in… well, ever, that the majority of games that I’m looking forward to for the holiday season are on a console. I have a list of PC games, too, and a few of my most anticipated games are on it. But man, it’s a short list.
So, is this game all in-engine cutscenes, or is there gameplay? Oh, wait, I forgot–it’s MG. Never mind.
I was worried that maybe you needed a hug.

Starcraft 2 doesn’t even get a mention?
Haven’t heard if its at E3.
Rob_Merritt:
You must be joking.
…: The Witcher, Fallout 3
Most years E3 for the PC ment, Someone was running a copy of Flight Sim X in the corner and it wasn’t even microsoft. Maybe because you are a journalist you are expose to more but I don’t see what is so horrible about this E3 or the list from Microsoft.
I’m just talking about new PC announcements, not games we already knew about like Witcher and Fallout 3, Hellgate, Crysis, Warhammer Online, Dragon’s Age, StarCraft 2 etc. - there’s lots of PC stuff I’m looking forward to, but that list of “unveilings” couldn’t be more abysmal. Zero new games of interest.
E3 threadcast day is the traditional day for getting one’s snark on. Duh!
;)
Ah, OK: you originally said “that list of Rob Merritt’s is unbelievably lame,” which had at least a couple of standouts, hence the confusion / joshing about your reaction. :-)

Yeah, I was referring to the list he made in his initial post, not the more comprehensive one listing other games we knew about already.

Heh, I thought exactly the same thing :-)
I least I know I will probably enjoy Viva Pinata myself if it fails to woo the wife, unlike any of the Sims titles which I never bought.

I got Viva Pinata for the 360 because I thought my wife would enjoy it (she played Animal Crossing on the cube for a couple of months)…and she hates it. She’d rather play Marvel Ultimate Alliance or Oblivion. Atta girl.
