People you don't know parking in front of your house

People who want to buy pot from a piano teacher.

lol… so where abouts do you live Igor… I have some jam band concerts to go to this summer and could use some… um… piano lessons prior to attending.

Get one of these, problem solved:

I think the only real solution to this is to run out of your house wielding a golf club, screaming: “THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU FUCK A STRANGER IN THE ASS!!!”

Crowbar. Noob.

Goddammit. I’ll turn in my beret in the morning.

Except that the house across the street and one house down already has a fire hydrant… otherwise yeah.

You’re assuming people notice these things. You give too much credit. Put the fake one by your parking spot when you leave in the morning. You said it’s always different cars, so it’s probably people unfamiliar with the neighborhood. Rather than thinking “why is that there when two more are so close by” the average person will just think “damnit, stupid fire hydrants!” and go elsewhere.

I used to work for the internet consulting spin off of the advertising/branding company Focus2 (they did a lot of stuff for id Software). They had these signs in their parking lot:

Sorry for the links but I didn’t want to link the images directly without getting permission.

Trying block the parking space with your trash cans/unwanted sofa/placeholder object

See if they go the length to move your stuff out of the way.

I’m not sure, but it seems to me that something like this could be a crime. Possibly (due to the heightened sensitivity around police, fire, and rescue services) a non-misdemeanor crime. I’m just guessing though, I have no idea for sure.

I started the “Best Youtube” thread, I get to post whatever I want in it.

Dude, suck it up. You don’t own the thread.

I’m thinking leaving random crap on the actual street would be a crime too. Aren’t there laws against littering and such?

Well, I didn’t suggest that. I suggested destruction of property. :)

But seriously, it is just a feeling to me that fire hydrants may have a special status. Sort of like how destroying a public trashcan probably puts you in a bit less of a world of hurt than destroying a federal mail receptacle.

It may be that it is completely legal to do it, I don’t know.

… and the look on the fire-fighters faces when they realize it’s fake is priceless.

Remove their rear license plates, turn them upside-down, and reattach them. For repeat offenders, put whipped cream underneath the license plates before you reattach them.

If you suspect illegal activities, put up a neighborhood watch sign and start logging license plate numbers.

Just park your car on your front yard. That’s how we do in Albuquerque.

Caltrops!

Dude, just put fucking nails and screws out there. They wont be back and problem solved.

I just parked 3 blocks from my house because that was the first available spot on the street. It’s happened every night for two weeks. The new condos that went up across the street forgot to put in ample parking for their 40 units, so everyone parks in the street. If I want to park near my house, I need to get home by 3pm.

It sucks, but that’s life. Life is dumb people forgetting to do things.
