I’m a bit dubious about the ship combat.

I mean there was a text based battle in pillars 1, and it was fun enough, but I wouldn’t have wanted to repeat it.

My inclination here is that it’s going to be odd going from “naval” battles to land battles.

This is the only thing keeping me from buying right now.

Then I wouldn’t worry about it, it’s going to not only be an optional bit of fun for those that get into it, but it’s also going to have a “skip” style option in the dialog that you can use to just accept some hull damage and get right to a ship to ship combat (using the normal combat system).

I was under the impression the ship combat was entirely text based. This video shows I was wrong.

I will now buy this on release :).
