Post your pet!

and that would be
“yes and Im short a few fingers for my effort” ?

And a cute dog.

I’m still pretty heartbroken about my buddy Floyd, but my wife’s friends cat had kittens and they needed a home for two of them.

This is the little girl, Georgia

and here’s my little boy cat, Henry

Naturally the boy kitten poses with the games collection. Cute kittens!

Yay cats!

Some advice, which may not be needed, but which I’ve found since getting Max and Claudia:
Pick them up and pet them all the time, then they’ll like it more when they get older… And trim their claws.

King was always cool about being pet and picked up, but he was not into having his claws trimmed. But I started trimming Max and Claudia’s when I got them, and while they still don’t really LOVE it, they’ll usually let me trim a few at a time before they get too fussy. And having them have duller claws is nice for preventing accidental pokes. King had freaking razor blades on his paws.

If you do it when they are tiny, they’ll be used to it, and they won’t freak out when they get older.

Congrats on the new family members! They’re adorable!

Are they at the age where they’re constantly fighting and kicking each other in the head? That’s my favorite.

Does that phase end?

Bijou, aka "The Bij"

Copper. He has no nickname. He wouldn’t stand for that.

Nice, both of them. What’s Copper guarding? It looks like a tub full of paper wrapped packages from… the butcher shop?

The correct answer is, “whatever he damn well pleases.” You can see from the look on his face, that’s Copper’s household, he makes the rules. Almost like, “I see what you’re doing over there. I’ll allow it. Bring me treats.”

@Navaronegun Bij is absolutely a great looking dog.

That was a packing day. So that tub had been on the table for three days. Nothing. On the day it needed to be packed with wrapped doo-dads-Need a new bed.

She is a Princess.

She is the happiest and smartest I have ever had. Smart. Mostly Australian Shepherd, with some Swiss Shepherd and a dab of Border Collie.

For a time my family had an Australian Shepard, and indeed she was a smart dog. But of course I would say that, since I was definitely her favorite person.

But she also had that tendency to get nippy when people ran or were rough housing. Many a nipped butts from her as she tried to herd me and my brother.

Which was fine, we were both 20+. So as much as I liked her, not sure I’d want a Shepard breed right now since I’ve got two kids under 5.

Does your girl try to herd people?

Th Aussie in her would beg to differ. :)

Just pure strangers in the house. More like on escort duty. Close escort. And doorway/passageway guarding. No nipping.

She tries to herd the cat. That involves a whole amusing series of adventures that I may lay out if anyone is interested. That is a Dostoevsky novel.

If we’re posting snoots…

Oh, I can do that!

The plan is for us to get a pupper in mid July. A friend has an Anatolian Shepard/Pyrenees cross that the farmer said is “too friendly” to be a guard dog, so looking forward to that she will be about 12 weeks when we get her. Hope she is good with cats, a little nervous about the introduction. Though apparently she is friendly with all of the farm cats where she is now. But still, nervous.

Holy cow, our dogs could be twins! I did a double take.

Pyrenees Shepherds are humongous sweethearts. She’ll just see the cats as part of her herd/pack.

But get ready for “pacing the perimeter”! :)
