Potential Trojan Horse on Qt3 Ads?

I’ve been randomly getting an attempt to install an application on occasion as I’ve visited Qt3. The dialog box says:

The application’s digital signature cannot be verified. Do you want to run the application?

Name: Analytics
Publisher: Security CC LTC
From: http://google-adservice.com

When this there is no advertisement up at the top, just a blank blue bar where the advertisement should go, so I assume it’s coming from the adserver. The fact that it’s from google-adservice.com instead of adservice.google.com makes me strongly suspect that it’s sinister (and even if it wasn’t, no, I do not want to install an application to help google’s advertisements).

I’ve gotten this twice while visiting Qt3 in the past couple hours. Anyone else getting this?

My bad. Thanks Scrax.

It does appear to be sinister, and you should not allow it to run anything.

<!--
google_ad_client = "pub-5008003621943549";
/* 728x90, created 7/7/08 */
google_ad_slot = "8596948173";
google_ad_width = 728;
google_ad_height = 90;
//-->

Dunno if that helps squelch it or not – can Tom/stusser tell Google to blacklist a given ad client?

In any event, I’ve turned my ad blocker back on for QT3 for the time being.
