Star Citizen - Chris Roberts, lots of spaceship porn, lots of promises

Maybe the guys of Silicon Valley will go into game development next season.

Ah, I heard some talk about SV, guess I should check out a few eps.

I don’t know… I think only Aaron Sorkin would be able to capture the drama of the Star Citizen saga.

CIG will be selling digital popcorn and digital soda when the movie releases.

Is there a game here yet? If not, I’ll come back in another 3 years and ask again.

It’s a mind game at this point.

Choice box quote:
“Wouldn’t this look great if it ran at 60 fps instead of 5.”

LOL!!! This happened live during an ED stream. For the record, I had nothing to do with it. Watch the ship closely.

Got an email.

Dear Citizen,

Earlier this week the SpaceX team, a group close to our hearts for somewhat obvious reasons, successfully tested the Falcon Heavy. We congratulate the entire team, in the words of Imperator Kelos Costigan:

“We honor those who shared the vision, who dared to believe, when it was just a dream and a promise.”

Finally SpaceX gets the recognition they deserve. :P

My latest. An ode to my fans on /r/starcitizen

Haha, that one was great :)

At first I thought it was SC but then I noticed it ran at a playable framerate and had multiple players in it so it must’ve been E:D :-)

LOL! Gentlemen, the other shoe has dropped. They can’t build the MMO promised.

If I understood it right, they’re redoing the architecture to the point of having to redo all the synchronization? That’s going to take a while, to say the least.

That’s just the half of it.

Multiple servers PER SYSTEM? Am I reading that right?

Yes. It’s hilarious.

That reads awfully like they’ve been using conventional multiplayer game networking and server code, not MMO grade architecture? Is that right?

Geezus. Geezus.

I hate to admit it, but I have to say, after playing a lot of EVE Online of late, it amazes me that neither Elite nor this apparently took the lessons of what that game does best and adapt those things to their own game.

Eve isn’t a twitch based game.

No, but my point is EVE still does a lot right, like one shared server, user-based economy, can run on a potato and so on.

What is the current proposed release date for 3.4?
