Thanks for the replies all. They were awesome. I’m getting the impression that although no way in hell will the game get made that was promised, what is getting made is pretty cool, but needs more time to cook.
The only thing being cooked is the books.
They’ve burned through $200 million and has been in development since 2011, with a release state being nowhere in sight. I think “needs more time to cook” may be quite an understatement, in this situation.
Of course. Depends on what you are looking for. My litmus is a high fidelity spaceship with good flight mechanics, cool weapons, awesome graphics that I can fly against AI mostly, and maybe other people. I’d pay ~30 for that. Bonus if I could customize. Looks like it may be closer for me, than for somebody who is waiting for a persistent universe with ten billion individually rendered worlds and ten billion other players where you can do anything you want.
Here’s what’s going to shock you. Your $45 “pledge” comes with a shitty fighter. You have to BUY (like for REAL money) all those ships to use them. Unless you are on a server where some poor sap spawns his chariot, and you were quick enough to steal it from the pad before he gets to it.
