Ah ok. I took it mostly as a concession for the format and channel. It had long been a source of speculation and commentary on the nature of their relationship, and was part of the intent, but due to being a Disney XD show they had never been explicit with it.

I’m pretty sure I read during the series original run that Filloni intended their relationship to be romantic.

I assumed they were literally married from the first few episodes. I didn’t even think it was a question so I was actually surprised later in the show it became apparent they weren’t.

Still a better love story then Twilight.
