The decline to moral bankruptcy of the GOP

Obviously the RNC will be returning all the money donated by Wynn, as they demanded the DNC do of Weinstein’s donations.

This was definitely an open secret, I know I heard about it many years ago.

I doubt there is a human being in the world who owns a casino who is not a criminal, much less a virtuous person.

Hey, what about Donald Trump? He owned a casino. Oh never mind

So another committee chair to retire, Gowdy, so won’t have to face responsibility for shit they are pulling now.

I totally didn’t know this was the system in place until I read the report about it being declared unconstitutional. Upon reading it, the WTF look on my face was likely intense, but my cats didn’t seem to care because they were just fed;

If the GOP is truly the party of Trump, and I do believe it is, what are conservatives going to do in 2018 and 2020? Not Republicans, I mean real Conservatives. Do they follow along with the Republicans because at least they get some things like tax cuts? Do they vote for Democrats as a way of tossing out the Plutocratic White Nationalist Party? Or do they just stay home?

Would it be impossible for them to create a third party?

Maybe join in on reforming electoral systems in the fundamental ways needed to break the two party mold?

A boy can dream at least. My greatest hope would be I live to see the end of single district, first past the post instead moving to single transferable vote mixed member representation elections. Or something similarly objectively better than our system.

Technically, or practically?

Practically speaking it won’t work. Fundamentally our electoral system is designed in such a way that two parties are the inevitable result. Without changing the very nature of how we allocate votes a true multi party system is impossible to achieve in a stable system.

Sad that.

How many are there? I think we’ve seen that the vast majority of the GOP is about holding power and benefiting themselves, not ‘conservative principles.’ Yeah, there are a few people on twitter, maybe three senators, Strollen and Timex.

You could probably fit every one of them in a couple of football stadiums.

All the conservatives i know either convince themselves that all politicians are scum and it’s just business as usual nothing to see here, tax cuts plz.

That’s the tack i’m driving into them out here. This isn’t business as usual, it’s not just my policy vs your policy and we won and you’re sour grapes. It’s the “remember all those moments in history when the bad guys took the country over, and you wondered what it was like back then? You’re living that moment right now.”

It’s not that hard to find conservatives who are appalled by Trump. Bill Kristol, David Frum, and John Podhoretz for starters.

Unless you’re asking whether there are any conservative politicians who oppose Trump. Those are much harder to find, particularly among those still in office. Which just goes to show you that the Republican party is not a party of conservative principle.

Paul Ryan trying to pretend he cares about working people goes about as well as you might imagine.

Understand that all that matters to Republicans is hating brown people and the gays.
