I gave up on the Mechwarrior 5 thread here. Way too much detail about the nitty gritty of Mechwarrior online that I don’t need to know about.
When it comes out, I just want to drive around a big old honking Mech with either a joystick or a gamepad, and shoot the leg off stupid enemy Mechs that are unsuccessful at stopping me.
Steam release of Ashen is today too. Looks like there’s now a phenomena of “Epic sucks, will wait for Steam” people now going “it should be 99% off now since a whole year has passed! Screw this game!” after “boycotting” Epic.
I reinstalled my old Mechwarrior 2 CD on Dosbox last year for that, and it works wonder at filling that need!
Never managed to progress much in the campaign, then nor now, but whatever.
But after taking the time and managing the pain of setting up properly my awesome stick, I just went back to keyboard and mouse and found it played infinitely better that way.
Played this on Xbox GamePass. Combat felt clumsy, dumb environmental deaths, and I hated it. Just play Dark Souls, at least everything has a face.
I’ve heard surprisingly good things. On my radar. I never expected to like a Terminator game (at least since the on-rails arcade shooter from 25 gears ago).
Only 13 hours to go. Tick tock. My wife and I play on Android.
I so want this to be good. Tired of sim/tycoon-in-name-only games.
“Where we’re going, we don’t need eyes to see.”
I almost bought (some version of) this on Switch… but it turns out it has nothing to do with the movie… or even Stephen Hawking.
Not too many noteworthy games coming out in this period. Xbox/PS4 get untitled goose game. I’ll be trying that out tonight, since it’s on Game Pass.

Well, just speaking for myself, I won’t buy any former Epic exclusive on Steam when released until it is discounted. Why should I pay full price for a game that’s been out six months to a year already? Many of these games I would have gladly bought on release day on Steam. But the bloom is of the rose now, the excitement has passed, and I’ve already waited a six months to a year, I can wait further if need be - my backlog is plenty big. So yeah, I’m one of those guys.
Apparently there have been game releases during the last week. Especially for Nintendo platforms, including the Wii U. Never heard of this stuff except for the Switch ports from other platforms.

OK, finally, we’re getting big releases again. Warcraft 3: Reforged, Kentucky Route Zero, Pillars 2 on console, Journey to the Savage Planet, a new Lode Runner game on PS4 apparently? Something called Music Racer? I want that just based on its name! There’s an online Warhammer game? Commandos 2 HD Remaster? Something called Code Shifter? Autobahn Police Simulator 2? How did I miss the first game with that kind of name? Wait, maybe being Police on the Autobahn is really boring because all you do is watch traffic cameras?
Anyway, big week this week! You guys looking forward to anything from this week’s selection?

Somebody who is more familiar with the game than me should create a thread for Journey to the Savage Planet. Looks like it’s getting good reviews. I skimmed this Eurogamer review earlier today.
I’m definitely going to buy Warcraft sometime, but enough to play for now. It would probably eat up a year if the custom mods get popular again. Actual Sunlight… never expected that to be on a Nintendo.
