Yeah, but you asked, “When?” as if this was just something recent. My point is that it’s not recent, it’s been happening for a while now.
And all that may be true, but while there may be a lot of crap, we’re also probably getting more quality games in the end than we would have gotten otherwise.
All sorts of people taught me words, of course :). Sorry, to me it seemed like you were just discovering this as it is not uncommon for people to use the term “when” upon discovering something for the first time - like “when did this happen, I never noticed this before”. Did you not “learn” that usage? :)
I’m not sure why you are getting all bent out shape, I was just joking with you for the most part.
It’s just a guess on my part. If they are selling their license to more people, then it stands to reason that more games will result, with some being bad, some being good, hence more good games (as well as bad) being released than would otherwise be the case. Seems reasonable to me, YMMV.
And they’ve done ever better in the two years since that article. They’re definitely not hurting financially from the fact that I’m not playing their games! See also, pre-Mandalorian Star Wars junk.
A new week brings new games! Are they a threat to your wallet this week? I think the new 3D Realms game Wrath is likely a threat to my wallet if it gets favorable early reviews. It’s based off the Quake 1 engine. There’s a Persona 5 Striker game coming out, is that a Persona game in another genre? Also, I’ve heard great things about Bravely Default, so the sequel coming to the Switch is probably a huge deal.

It’s a Warriors/musou game that story-wise is a sequel to Persona 5. Heard good things so far! Which means I need to carve out some time to get through P5 Royal.
Oh wow, that’s that genre where you slash your way through hundreds of enemies right? From the gameplay footage I never understood those types of games at all.
They are either mindnumbingly dumb on easy, or excruciatingly technical on hard - no middle ground!
One of the rules of the Muso games is that you lose all the progress made on a stage on death, baring a few exceptions here and there. So it’s a very tough proposition to someone who values his gaming time.
The P5 game had a demo (still does?) and was quite strange, for a Muso fan like myself.
My wallet feels so safe this week it’s sleeping with the doors and windows unlocked and leaves the keys on the front seat of its Lamborghini at all times.
