My Board Wargame Wallet Threat Level this week is:
Preachy Woodrow Wilson.
GMT announced two P500s from Mark Herman, a renowned and respected designer. But one is an expansion of an old title, and one is a political game, not a wargame. I enjoy a good backstabbing and historically flavored Political Game, but this smacks of another recent release of his, Churchill, which left me blah.
For those who don’t know, this was a very hard to find solitaire game with a unique hook. That being, halfway through the game if you were doing well you would switch sides, effectively playing against your former position.
No idea how it plays in practice, but it sure is tempting.

This does not impact me too much, in and of itself because I am not a CDG guy, and Sumter itself is really low on my list of topics, so I didn’t pre-order it. Funny, Mark Herman is one of my favorite designers, but we’re on different wavelengths lately…
Cataclysm is a quickie area movement WW2 game. Again, not my sort of thing, but it looks charming.
Fighting Formations: Kharkov is a scale and period in the East of WW2 that doesn’t float my boat either so I didn’t order it…
However…
In the same Twitter thread, GMT stated that in the next two weeks they will begin shipping these titles:

Yoku’s Island has gotten great reviews and sounds fun, with a lot of backtracking. Sounds like one to get. West of Loathing is an insta-buy if the port is good. And Cultist Simulator sounds amazing…
These will all go on my master list of stuff to get and maybe I’ll get to them in months. Who can keep up…
I also added Overload to the list, which is out today on PC. Basically, Descent 4, I’m hoping. I can’t wait to play it tonight.
Yoku’s Island: I noticed two people on my Xbox friends list were playing it last night. What is that? I thought at first that it said Yoshi’s Island, and I was thinking “how is a Nintendo game on the Xbox?”
Lots of stuff coming out this week that looks interesting. Vampyr, the new one by the developers of Remember Me and Life is Strange. There’s Onrush, the new one by people who did Motorstorm games. There’s Warhammer: 2k: Inquisitor: Martyr: Game: ARPG.

Also: Perils of Baking? WTF is that? What a lovely name.
Hopefully there will be a demo. Last time I tried a roller coaster game on my Rift, it was not a pleasant experience. I’d have preferred a relaxing canoe ride for experiencing Norse mythology. :)
Yoku’s Island is a blast by the way. This would be a great gateway into metroidvanias. It’s fun, colorful, relatively non-violent, has things to find and collect, secret areas, frequent save points, and a very low frustration level. I’ve played about 6 hours and it feels like there’s still quite a bit left.
