Wow, that first FPP duo match was good. Some intense stuff going on there.
I find all “pro” escorts coverage to be appalling. The only real people are the fighting game guys, who have been doing it from the grassroots for years but haven’t quite been taken over by a huge influx of money.
Also, any tips on using scopes? I just had a game that was going pretty good, I got an 8x on my AKM, but when it came time to take the shot I couldn’t hit the side of a barn. It’s just bouncing around the whole time, even with my breath held.
Play with your sensitivity settings for 8x? Lower it slightly, but not so much as it is a huge difference to your other settings.
Also, engagement range - sometimes the 8x just is not a good choice. It’s probably a bad choice if you are in an active firefight with your target at <100m, for example, as scoping in and out is just going to throw your aim off entirely. Switch to 2x or red dot if you have them. For this reason, big scopes diminish in value towards end game.
And practice, it takes a while to get a handle on drop at the ranges you would want to engage with for an 8x.
I personally hate the 8x , fwiw. I’d rather a 4x anytime.
I have a Razer that allows me to adjust on the fly. When I use an 8X I drop to 450 dpi from my standard 1000 in FPS games.
Agreed, but how do I get concentrated practice? It comes up only occasionally in game. They need to add some kind of shooting range to this game so people like me can take their time practicing with all the different weapons and add ons.

I find the Dota2 coverage at The International superb. This is obviously nowhere near that, but it’s early days :)

They will or want to add stuff like a shooting range, but given the explosion in popularity, it’s probably taking a back seat to more pressing development targets, sadly.
Until then, it’s a case of use 'em when you get 'em.
Casters aren’t being helped by the technical issues that are really stretching out the gaps between games. I don’t find either of them too bad when the game is actually in play. Simms was a bit adjective heavy on day one (Awesome! Insane!), but has toned down a bit and Pansy has been good from the start.
In other news, “Gassy Mexican and Curvy Llama” sounds like a great weekend.
The problem is that they seem to be commentating purely from the stream. Obviously you need a separate person driving the camera for the stream, but the commentators should have their own non-streamed observer instance for looking up things.
The whole thing would be helped if the camera director’s chair was electrified and Pansy was given a big red button.
Camera’s keep cutting away from fights or lingering on passive looting a bit too much.
It must be so hard to be the spotter on this game, there’s so many people and stuff kicks off and is over in seconds.
Like just then, the cameras are pointing as some passive looting in the apartments and at school and the casters said “we need to see what’s happening at George” about five separate times, because a high number of teams had all crashed there and… nothing.
Then 30 seconds later we cut to… the military base.
That has to be smoothed out so the casters can prompt where the camera goes.

I shotgunned a guy in a house when there was about 40 or so left, and he gave me a Mk14 sniper rifle along with a 15x scope! I never even knew the game had either of those. I later sniped the last remaining two players to win the game. First win is such a rush.
Air drop only goods, I imagine.

We had a shirts vs skins round. Those of us on the clothed team quickly took to calling the enemies “nudes”. It got hilarious pretty quickly, especially when Danny Baranowsky starting yelling his head off about it haha

Got third in the first match, the solo one.
In the second match I was with Regina Wu, Whitta and Skratty. We were caught in north George between 4 teams and got torn apart.
I was skins in the 50v50, again with Whitta.
Had to go after that though.
Should have done shirts…
It was fun if a little chaotic. I thought the skins vs shirts and the ‘crossbows only’ games were kind of dumb. But that might be because I was randomly run over by a jeep early on in both matches.
