Fox News thread of fine journalism

It’s not maybe. Fox doesn’t even do much news anymore, it’s just a platform for propaganda with some events sprinkled on the side.

On some level though, on any given day, simply reporting the news is automatically going to amount to “Trump Bashing.”

I mean, every day Trump does something that is just totally off the wall. Most of the time, these things happen during the live shows. It’s not like they can choose to NOT talk about that stuff. ( mean, they could, and end up like Tucker Carlson where you’re talking about panda porn)

And because most of what Trump does is so ridiculous, simply talking about it is going to have negative connotations for Trump.

Does CNN talk news? I have never seen them do anything but have panels talk about the same things over and over again. They bring on people who rant about Trump as though he will be impeached tomorrow. And they have done that since almost day one.

Fox is no better of course. But I think Fox has a loyal viewership that actually cares about Fox (idiots), whereas I can’t think of anyone who even watches CNN.

But my real point above was to compare the cable news media to the newspapers of old, and the power those papers had in making or breaking politicians. Papers no longer have that power in most places thankfully, as I don’t think so.

But this is literally the news every day.

Seriously. They talk about trump every day, because Trump does insane bullshit EVERY DAY.

Fox talks about Hillary every day.

Ya, and Hillary is actually news… pretty much zero days. She is largely immaterial to everything.

But for something like Trump’s Russian investigation. They talk about this every day, because literally every day there are new developments… Like, crazy ones, with Trump’s lawyer getting all his shit searched, etc.

This is the biggest danger right now… that since it’s been going on every single day for over a year, folks are just getting tired of it. It’s like, “Oh man, here we go again, CNN bitching about Russia!” but it’s stuff that merits coverage every day.

The problem isn’t that CNN is covering it every day. The problem is that Trump does this shit every fucking day.

On a lighter note. Jimmy Kimmel’s 3rd grader explaining fake news to Trump is great.

Have you watched prime time CNN? I find it hard to believe you think what they cover during the average prime time period is worthy of the coverage they give it. How many hours do you need to speculate about something that disappears from the news 2 days later. And that is all it is, speculation.

I work a second job in the evening, a job which has only CNN on the TVs all day long in the break and lunch rooms. I have watched literally hours of CNN talking about nothing, nothing, as though it was earth breaking news.

And as for them having Trump surrogates, Fox has it’s Dem surrogates. Most of the Trump surrogates I have seen are pretty incompetent and are basically treated as such by the hosts and other panelists.

CNN is bad at journalism. Fox is good at propaganda. They’re in completely different businesses.

CNN really needs to ditch the food-fights and screaming, though. It doesn’t look balanced. It looks childish.

Well, there are two things here.
First, if you watch CNN for a long period of time, they absolutely repeat stuff. But this is kind of the nature of TV News. The big stories get coverage multiple times, because most folks only watch for a short period of time.

In terms of “speculation about stuff that disappears 2 days later”, I’d need an example so I understand what you mean.

Yeah, I’ll never forgive CNN and every other news outlet that repeatedly let horrific liars like KA Conway and Jeffrey Lord spew their bullshit day after day on the air. Just so ridiculous.

Timex is right that’s always be a part of cable new or radio new station. They repeat the same stories pretty much every hour. During the wars, they recycled the same group of military experts numerous times during a day.

What has changed is that CNN has replaced the having one or two guys (plus the occasional woman) with having a big panel. The panels engaged in a ton of speculation

The President of the United States, ladies and gentlemen.

Jesus wept.

Remember that time he talked to Cohen about real estate?

I can’t believe this absolute piece of shit keeps acting like a piece of shit. I mean, who knew? Doing the Lord’s work for sure.

him and ben carson, looting the poor/treasury.

Not Fox, but also state media: Sinclair - not just dictating editorial policy.

Once, again, the GOP vows to make Not-President Clinton regret totally not winning the 2016 election. But hey, it’s her fault.

They really need to update their two-minute hate script.
