I don’t see how the text lines up right, but I’ll say Rings of Zilfinn.
That’s right. Rings of Zilfin was a great, underrated RPG by Ali Atabek who would go on to create the better known Magic Candle games. But those were never on the Atari ST, and Rings of Zilfin on the ST was a thing of beauty.
I played it when it was new. It definitely had a weird vibe and the inclusion of quasi-arcadey side-view sequences was interesting.
Atabek is a genius. The Magic Candle is brilliant. Pity he drifted away from game design. I’d like to see his kickstarted comeback.
Awesome, I knew Gordon would come up with it. I never played this one but, like all things SSI, I lusted after it in the catalog plenty.
The days new SSI catalogs came out were so exciting. So many cool games I wanted to play.
