This is probably the first console generation where I didn’t miss playing on the PC. PC brings other things like mods and ultrawide but loading times and graphics were my previous sticking points and that advantage has mostly been erased outside of some titles like Cyberpunk.
I would still pick the PC version of most things but it’s to the point I would probably buy whatever is cheaper. Which is usually PC.
I am torn, I much prefer mouse/keyboard for most games, but the feedback on the PS5 controller should be a game changer. It makes me excited to try new games that will support it. I am not sure how much Subnautica will support it, but I am going to give it a try this Friday.
I have a 5 but still play most stuff on the PC. At 50 I am too old to play an FPS with the controller, i tried a few times with my son but I am crap and die all the time. We play co op on our pcs so he can use a controller and me the mouse :)
If I can make a suggestion for yourself and anyone who wants to learn the controller for first person shooting, pick a game mode like king of the hill or something where you can have a lengthy session of just running to one spot and shooting things along the way. It will train your hands in a relatively short amount of time with the muscle memory you need to be competent.
Don’t snipe. Use assault rifles and smgs or their equivalent so you can throw out a volume of fire with less accuracy. The accuracy will come with time.
I did this with Halo back in 2001-ish and it’s to where I can’t go back to mouse and keyboard. It’s just more comfortable and natural, especially on the couch.
Gamestop sent me an email that they were dropping more systems today, but I’m sure they will be bundles with 70 dollar versions of Madden. If they had a bundle that let me pick the damn game I might bite.
Eh looks like it came and went. And they freaking had 3 games in the bundle. 1 which I already own and 2 I don’t want. So ya 2022 can’t come soon enough. ;)
