Ok the Eerie Canal Profile map gets a pass. The Suez map is drifting dangerously close to Old Maps That Are Interesting territory.
I’ll have to consult @cannedwombat for a rules clarification.

But here is an “Imperial Boosterism” type map of the Canal to keep you happy:
@cannedwombat needs a clarification as to what boosterism is. That Suez map is from 1914, well after the canal was built. Also, it’s German and my German has declined to the point where I can only ask for beer.
The canal company was looking for investors, an was prospecting in Germany, ironic, given that in 1914…oh never mind…
I get the irony, was just a little confused about the need for boosters in 1914. I’ve really only heard the term used in reference to drum up support for a project. The more you know.
Let’s go back to the Great White North, corporate style.
