Star Citizen - Chris Roberts, lots of spaceship porn, lots of promises

Yes - shockingly they do. That’s where the whole concept of Sunk Cost Fallacy come from. Aside from the fact that they’re unequivocally a cult now.

It’s simple. I wrote a whole blog about it back in 2017

Paul thinks it might be “mind control” at play

Not sure if it’s been posted here or even if dsmart made it but this chart really shows how insane the funding trend looks like. I had no idea.

SO WHAT NOW?

Now we wait for the other penny to drop. And from what I’m hearing, it won’t be long now.

Just because you wrote a blog doesn’t mean that what you wrote makes sense to me.

Credit card fraud doesn’t work because CIG would lose the money in chargebacks.

The returns on black market sales are too low nowadays for it to be more traditional laundering.

I am more than happy to believe that SC has, wittingly or unwittingly, become a mechanism for money laudering - I just don’t understand how it functions. Where does the clean money come from?

Hmm (/tinfoil hat on)…what if there really was only a Potemkin village facade of actual development and developers? And what if all those “salaries” were really…payouts of clean money? Has anyone actually met a developer working on Star Citizen? In person? More than one at the same time? Hmm…

(mostly not serious, but partly serious. Aliens.)

What if Derek Smart was the programmer behind the curtain? Duh duh duhhhhh!

Nah, in that case, they’d at least have had a functional game by now.

You know, if Star Citizen just makes that bunny hop into becoming a real, committed religion, it may simply get showered with so much cash that it gets the job done. It’s growing, right? Who is to say that they’re aren’t raking in triple the current rate in 5 years?

I figure, they do “Engine Switch II” Punt it down the road, get the take up to 2 Billion in few more years (10 more!), then release the beast.

Or, it will make so much money that it spontaneously creates a god-like manifestation of wealth, that like a sentient AI, will become an actual god.

Slaanesh?

Could be. There seems to be enough chaos surrounding the project.

It doesn’t have to make sense to you. And it won’t unless you’ve been following the activities.

I didn’t say anything about credit card fraud. You did.

The Black market was booming for a time, and has slowed down - but not to any great degree.

Whatever money laundering is going on, whether or not CIG is complicit in it or not is up for debate as we have no proof. But I know - for a fact - that there are people laundering money through ship sales. It’s not even a secret.

Enron, Gizmondo (which some CIG primaries were involved), Theranos, and recenly Wirecard were all legit ops - until they collapsed.

There’s something highly fishy going on, and I’m 100% certain that it will come out at some point. It’s interesting to note that only the UK financials (which are public) are certified by accountants. The US ones are not. There’s a reason for that.

^this :)

Go on then, I’ll bite, I’m an anti-money laundering analyst for a S&P500 financial institution with over a decade working for the big IBs and other regulated firms. Whats the methodology used to launder funds through these ship sales? Something at the layering stage?

I’d also like to hear the typology. Transaction laundering is the new hotness.

Off-topic, but I keep getting amazed at the diversity of people in QT3, at least professionally.

Now all we need is pro-money laundering analyst to make this interesting!
