Civ VI seems to be on major sale, and I never did get around to buying that. Thoughts of that versus Rimworld?
I always enjoy a Steam Sale, time to feed the backlog, my wish list has grown to near 600 games again. The funds have been set aside.
I don’t think he ever said never, unless referring to the early access period. It’s been on sale a bunch of times this year outside of Steam. Here is the official word! :)
For the first 7 years after it became available (2013-2020), RimWorld was never on sale. Our goal has always been to make a game that’s worth its full price. We want to attract players who are interested enough for that price to make sense for them by improving and expanding the game over years and years of active development (as opposed to seeking discount impulse buys). This general philosophy remains in place. However, it’s also cool to participate in sales, so for the forseeable future RimWorld will participate in sales at small discounts of ~10%.
From the email I received from Steam, some tempting ones:
Dragon Quest XI is $30 again
Wolcen (ARPG that got a good reception here at Qt3 I believe) is $30
Divinity Original Sin II: Definitive edtion is $22.50
Sekiro is only down to $39 again - when is the gosh darn game going to get a bigger discount?
Those will be tempting my wallet, along with this, the latest game from the ‘I Expect You To Die’ developers
